A couple years ago, I accepted the challenge of posting something every day in the month of October. \u00a0I didn’t find out about it until October 2nd, so I wound up posting 2 posts on October 31st. \u00a0I considered it a moral victory.<\/p>\n

This year, I’m once again starting on October 2nd. \u00a0But I’m not sure I’m going to be able to succeed with the challenge this time.<\/p>\n

The reality is that\u00a0I probably don’t have the time. \u00a0Music is a big part of my life right now, and I’m taking on responsibilities that I never thought I’d take on. \u00a0With my time as limited as it is, how am I going to commit to something every day?<\/p>\n

But I don’t want to give up on Blogtober, because if I don’t have time for this, how am I going to have time for NaNoWriMo?<\/p>\n

This month is going to be challenging. \u00a0I may be a juror on a big case. \u00a0Work<\/a> is as busy as it’s ever been. \u00a0Both River City Concert Band<\/a> and RC Swing<\/a> are active, and need my attention. \u00a0And I’m involved with the Sacramento Valley Symphonic Band Association<\/a>. \u00a0Plus, my family might want to see me from time to time. \u00a0How am I going to find the time to write something every day?<\/p>\n

I think I need to try. \u00a0If I’m going to continue to take my writing seriously, then I’m going to need to learn to manage my time, and hit my deadlines. \u00a0Maybe I should go back to packing lunches, so that I can dedicate some time in the middle of my work day for writing. \u00a0Maybe I should do like Michael<\/a>\u00a0and get up really early in the morning. \u00a0Okay, that last one isn’t going to happen, but it’s an idea.<\/p>\n

So this month, starting today, I’m going to try and post something every day. \u00a0If I’m successful, great! \u00a0I’ll take it as encouragement for NaNoWriMo.<\/p>\n

But if I’m unable to find the time, I’m not going to beat myself up.<\/p>\n

Speaking of NaNoWriMo, if I’m going to participate this year, I need to start thinking about what novel I’m going to start. \u00a0Maybe do some outlining.<\/p>\n
