{"id":951,"date":"2017-10-27T16:39:30","date_gmt":"2017-10-27T23:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/briancebuhl.com\/?p=951"},"modified":"2017-10-27T16:39:30","modified_gmt":"2017-10-27T23:39:30","slug":"doing-scary-things-daily","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briancebuhl.com\/?p=951","title":{"rendered":"Doing Scary Things Daily"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, I got up in front of my whole company and gave a presentation on the technology department&#8217;s development road map for the next year.\u00a0 I created the PowerPoint presentation yesterday, complete with built-in comedy and prolific yet tasteful animations.\u00a0 The PowerPoint was both powerful and on point, but I hadn&#8217;t really had a chance to rehearse.\u00a0 So I did something that scares me, today.<\/p>\n<p>Most people are at least intimidated by this kind of public speaking.\u00a0 I heard somewhere that some people are more afraid of public speaking than spiders or death.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not that afraid of it.\u00a0 It gets my heart going, certainly, but sometimes it&#8217;s actually a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>I did okay, and people paid me many compliments.\u00a0 Today&#8217;s presentation isn&#8217;t really what I want to talk about.<\/p>\n<p>Every opportunity we&#8217;re given to do something outside our comfort zone is an opportunity to grow.\u00a0 Eleanor Roosevelt said &#8220;do something everyday that scares you,&#8221;
